Elland Road has played host to some iconic footballers in recent years and Leeds United can boast a glut of world class former players. The teams of Don Revie and Howard Wilkinson won major domestic honours while David O’Leary’s young side progressed to the latter stages of the Champions League around the turn of the Century.
Success at Elland Road was usually enjoyed when Leeds had an elite striker to call on, and they’ve had plenty over the years. With that in mind, the YEP wanted to know who supporters consider the best ever and so a question was posed on Facebook - and the debate was interesting to read.
A look at the numbers would send fans one way but the memories another, with Leeds supporters on Facebook unable to agree on who would wear the crown as Elland Road’s best ever No.9. Take a look below to see what was said of the five main contenders.

7. Tony Yeboah
While Lorimer would win it on pure numbers, Yeboah might come out on top with regards to cult status. The Ghanaian only played 66 games for Leeds, scoring 32 goals, but provided some of the most memorable moments in recent years - not least those two goals against Wimbledon and Liverpool. | Getty Images

8. Leeds fans on Tony Yeboah
The much-loved forward got plenty of mentions in the comments, with Ian Bee writing: "Has to be John Charles but of the modern days it has to be Yeboah for me. Incredible balance and a ferocious shot". Andrew Bird also wrote: "Tony Yeboah for me, a more natural goal scorer you’re never going to see." | Getty Images

9. Mark Viduka
Australian striker Viduka was part of the last Leeds team to enjoy top-flight success before it all collapsed around 2003 and 2004. His 73 goals in 166 games helped Leeds progress in the Champions League, where they memorably progressed to the semi-finals in 2000/01. | Getty Images

10. Leeds fans on Mark Viduka
There was a lot of love for Viduka in the comments, with Paul Gray writing: "My favourite was Mark Viduka. Brilliant touch and skill for a big guy". Sirk Sirk also wrote: "I know Yeboah was brilliant, Beckford scored many many goals for us, but I think for me it was Mark Viduka." | Getty Images
