Phillips was named in Three Lions boss Gareth Southgate s final 26-man squad for this summer's Euros on Tuesday, despite injuring his shoulder in United's season finale against West Brom.

Leeds issued a positive update about the midfielder's condition the following day and Phillips made a swift recovery to then be included in Southgate's initial 33-man long list for the Euros.

Phillips then kept his place in the squad as the numbers were whittled down to 24 and the midfielder has been training with the Three Lions in the north east.

Only 15 members of the 26-man squad for the Euros are present at the Riverside due to those players involved in European finals still resting.

But Phillips and also former Whites loanee Ben White are on the bench as 17-year-old Jude Bellingham makes his full Three Lions debut and is in the XI along with West Ham's Declan Rice.

Bellingham and Rice appear set to line up in the centre of midfield.

Southampton's James Ward-Prowse - who has also been used in the middle of the park - is also amongst the substitutes but has not been included in Southgate's Euros squad.
