Leeds United are back on the road this weekend and it doesn’t get much more difficult than Manchester City at the Etihad. Daniel Farke’s side have only won once away from home this season and will need something close to a miracle if they want to climb out of the Premier League relegation zone.
Miracles can happen in football, however, and Leeds fans heading to the Etihad on Sunday will hope for a repeat of their team’s incredible 2-1 win back in April 2021. Despite being down to 10-men for the entire second-half, Marcelo Bielsa’s side took all three points thanks to a 91st-minute Stuart Dallas winner on the counter-attack.
Unfortunately, there were no fans at the Etihad due to the Covid-19 pandemic but it remains a memorable day for all involved with Leeds who watched on from home. Those involved in the win have taken very different career paths since, from Ballon d’Or contention to the Chinese Super League - let’s take a look at where they all are now.

7. RM: Raphinha
Like Phillips, the Brazilian enjoyed two great Premier League years at Leeds before a big-money move in 2022, this time to Barcelona. Has gone from strength to strength at Camp Nou and finished fifth in this year's Ballon d'Or rankings, with an argument he could even have won the award. | Getty Images

8. CM: Stuart Dallas
His winner at the Etihad has been watched over and over by Leeds fans, with the only shame being there was no one in the stands to celebrate it. 13 months later, the Northern Irishman unfortunately broke his femur in a defeat at home to City and was forced to retire last year, having not played since. 9. CM: Tyler Roberts
A real favourite of Bielsa, whose ability to get the best out of players is no more evident than with Roberts. The attacking midfielder dropped down the leagues after leaving Leeds in 2023 and is currently on loan at Mansfield Town in League One. | Getty Images

10. LM: Helder Costa
Had his moments for Leeds during that first season back in the Premier League but left on loan for Valencia the following summer and never played for the Whites again. Has since played in Saudi Arabia and Portugal. Joined Chinese side Yunnan Yukun in January but didn't play a single game. | POOL/AFP via Getty Images

11. ST: Patrick Bamford
Set up Dallas' opener at the Etihad but endured a thankless task and was replaced once his side went down to 10 just before half-time. Scored an incredible 17 Premier League goals that season and got an England cap, but was unable to keep it going. Spent four years in and out of the team before leaving in August, eventually joining Sheffield United earlier this month. Made his debut against Cooper last weekend. | AFP via Getty Images

12. Sub: Pascal Struijk
Replaced Bamford just before half-time and defended brilliantly. Grown into a key player at Leeds, regularly wearing the armband and winning a second Championship title in May. Likely to be the only player involved back in 2021 that plays again on Saturday, provided he keeps his starting place ahead of Jaka Bijol. | Getty Images
