Leeds United mad couple celebrate LUFC themed wedding including last dance to Marching on Together

A Leeds United mad couple had a wedding day to remember after dedicating their day to the club - including their 'last dance' choice of club anthem Marching on Together.

Carl Ward, 30 and his wife Megan, 26, were originally due to get married in November 2020.

The pair had "always planned to have a big Leeds United wedding" due to being superfans of the club, but "Covid had other plans".

Not to be deterred, the couple from Pontefract married on Tuesday (April 6) at the town registry office before returning home to a small gathering of family.

"We had always planned a big Leeds United themed wedding but we have had to cancel it twice due to Covid restrictions.

"It was as special as any other wedding."

Due to Covid restrictions, no music could be played at the registry office and Megan was unable to walk down the aisle.

After returning home, the couple had their 'last dance' to the famous chant Marching on Together.

The best man speech even included a cheeky nod to Marcelo Bielsa's efforts - with the speech concluding: "Can we all raise a glass to another year of the mighty Leeds United being in the Premier League.

"Marching on Together."
