Here's how each player got on at their loan club(s) across the season, ranked from worst to best:
7.
The Northern Ireland international settled well into the League One outfit, taking the step up from League Two - where he competed with Oldham Athletic last season - in his stride. Quickly found a place in Stephen Robinson's starting eleven before losing it midway through the season. The 22-year-old failed to win favour with new boss Derek Adams following a managerial change in February. Photo: Charlotte Tattersall
8. Ian Poveda - Blackburn Rovers
Challenging season for the young player. Rovers manager Tony Mowbray was keen on Poveda from the start and it was particularly cruel that the winger's season-ending injury should have been suffered the week after one his best performances. After recovering from an ankle fracture at Thorp Arch, Poveda returned to Rovers to make two bench appearances, but couldn't lift the Lancashire side into the Championship play-offs. 9. Elia Caprile - Pro Patria
A decent season's work for the 20-year-old. Caprile kept a clean sheet in one in every three league games as he established himself as a first choice 'keeper in Italy's third tier. Photo: George Wood
10. Mateusz Bogusz - UD Ibiza
A season of highs and lows for the young Pole. Bogusz instantly dazzled in Spain, and kept up an excellent standard of performance until January when, after making five goal contributions across three games, the in-form midfielder ended his season with a Cruciate Ligament Rupture. A sense of an opportunity lost, but he proved himself a fine player in Ibiza. Photo: Phil Noble
11. Cody Drameh - Cardiff City
A career-changing loan for Drameh. The 20-year-old wowed Bluebirds fans week in week out and played almost every minute under Steve Morison since arriving in January. After 22 appearances, Drameh was voted player of the year by City fans, who desperately want him to stay. Photo: Dan Istitene
