But instead of having a clear run at signing the defender, the report adds Leeds are keen on bringing their former loanee back to Elland Road, while Liverpool have also been linked.
Indeed, Brighton remain determined to keep hold of him until at least the summer, which suggests this a saga that will likely be played out next summer, rather than next month.
