White spent a hugely successful spell on loan with Marcelo Bielsa’s side in 2019/20, playing 49 times and helping them to secure a long-awaited promotion back to the Premier League.

Last summer saw Leeds embroiled in a tense battle to prise the 23-year-old away from Brighton, but ultimately Albion stood firm, and he has gone on to make 27 top flight appearances for the Seagulls in 2020/21.

Graham Potter’s men were reportedly unwilling to entertain offers below £35 million for the player at the time.

Instead, the Whites moved to bring in Robin Koch and Diego Llorente as defensive reinforcements, and the Yorkshire Evening Post understands that their presence in the squad – along with Pascal Struijk’s impressive form – means that the club are not currently in the market to sign another right-sided centre-back.
