The stalemate left Leeds on 15 points after eight games played yet the draw was enough for Farke’s side to climb one place up the table into fourth place.
The Whites leapfrogged Blackburn Rovers who fell to a 3-0 defeat at Coventry City and the Carrow Road point also allowed Leeds to close the gap to West Brom who dropped to third after a 1-0 defeat at home to Middlesbrough.

Hide AdBoth new leaders Sunderland and Burnley pulled two points further clear of Leeds through victories yet Tuesday night’s results have still presented Farke’s side with the chance to move top with a victory at new leaders Sunderland on Friday night.
Leeds could be out of the top six by then as both seventh-placed Sheffield United and eighth-placed Watford would move above the Whites with victories from their fixtures on Wednesday night which represent games in hand. Both teams are two points behind Leeds ahead of the Blades hosting Swansea City and Watford visiting Preston North End.
But Farke’s side will definitely line up at Sunderland sitting just three points behind the top-of-the-table Black Cats who have a plus two better goal difference but have only scored one more goal than Leeds. As such, it means a two-goal victory would put the Whites top ahead of the weekend’s other games in the final round of fixtures before the October international break.

Leeds are level on points with fifth-placed Blackburn but sixth-placed Middlesbrough are hot on their heels and just a point behind after Tuesday night’s 1-0 win at West Brom.
Burnley won by the same score at home to Plymouth Argyle whilst Sunderland enjoyed a 2-0 triumph at home to Derby County.
