Former Leeds United player hails what Whites just did and sends transfer message
Former Leeds player turned pundit has given his thoughts on the club’s transfer moves and what they must do next
Leeds United have made some great moves in the summer transfer window already, and one former player is urging them to do more key business as the months roll on.
Harry Wilson's capture on a free transfer has got the good vibes flowing among fans this summer, and former Leeds player Matt Kilgallon is one of those impressed by the move.
Kilgallon, speaking to the Yorkshire Evening Post via igaming.com, explained that Wilson appears to be a great fit.
Wilson move praised
"They've brought Harry Wilson in on a free from Fulham. I think that last season for Fulham was his standout campaign for me. He's a proper player. He's about 29. Looks like he's got a good attitude.
"He looks like a player that Farke would like as well, and looks like someone who will get on with the lads in that changing room."
Leeds sent transfer message
But to be truly competitive during the 2026/27 Premier League season after doing well to avoid relegation last term, the Whites must do more business during the summer window.
Leeds have been linked with the likes of Julian Brandt and Shea Charles, while Kilgallon believes the goalkeeping position is also key.
"Karl Darlow and the goalkeeper position is the one for us to resolve," Kilgallon added.
"We brought in Lucas Perri, and he made a bit of a hash of it at the start and made a few mistakes for a couple of goals that he should have saved. I think Man United away was one of them.
"Then Karl Darlow came in. Now, Darlow's done great since coming in, he really has, and made some worldies by the way, but would they say, ‘here you go, son, this is your No.1 jersey’ right from the start of the season?
"I think they might bring a goalkeeper in personally."
