Leeds United flying flag higher than most at Euros and sorry Robin but It's Coming Home

But a Germany squad that includes Robin Koch have squeezed into the European Championships knockout stages which leaves a 'fab four' of Leeds players at Euro 2020 and a meeting of Elland Road team-mates on the agenda.

The chances of Koch actually featuring for Germany in Tuesday tea time's last 16 clash against England at Wembley are slim as the Whites star has not yet played a single minute at this summer's Euros.

The same goes for Tyler Roberts with Wales and Diego Llorente with Spain, both of whom are also through to the last 16 with their countries.

But it should be remembered that even 2020 Premier League champions Liverpool only sent seven players to the competition - the same number as newly-promoted Leeds - and only three Premier League clubs in Chelsea, Manchester City and Manchester United took more.

Especially as a newly-promoted side, the Whites have every right to be deeply proud of their Euros representation with four players in the last 16, however much they have played.

And in any case, Kalvin Phillips is certainly racking up the minutes for England and is the only outfield Three Lions player to have played every minute of every game so far.

Even with Jordan Henderson returning to fitness, Phillips looks a banker bet to start against Germany in next Tuesday's 5pm kick-off at Wembley which would be a game befitting of a semi-final or the like, not the last 16.

But perhaps it could have been worse via a clash against France or a Portugal side featuring Mr Ronaldo who no doubt would have taken the fizz out of England's Euros bid.

We all know about the history with Germany but Joachim Low's side certainly look beatable and IF England can progress then the draw suddenly looks reasonably kind.

Either Sweden or the Ukraine would await in the quarter-finals and one of the Netherlands, the Czech Republic, Denmark or Wales would be next in the semis.

Phillips v Roberts for a place in the Euro 2020 final perhaps?

Steady on, let's deal with the Germans first shall we?

Ah what the hell, let's get carried away after all.
