The Castleford man - who has asked to remain anonymous - said he had always dreamed of creating a summer house dedicated to his life-long passion of Leeds United.

So when his wife said she didn't want any merchandise put inside their home, he thought it to be the perfect opportunity to shell out on an amazing garden pad.

The man - speaking exclusively to the Yorkshire Evening Post - said he had done "99 per cent" of the work himself - spending around £7,000 in the process.

He said: "I always wanted a summer house come bar.

"Given that the wife didn't want Leeds United merchandise in the house, she told me to build a one.

"So I did, and it had to be themed on my love of Leeds United."

The incredible pub comes complete with optics and bar - and even includes a custom built Leeds United themed gaming machine.

The owner added: "I always said that I wanted a retro games machine in to relive the memorable times as a kid.

"The whole build has cost me £7,000 so far bit that is doing 99 per cent of the work myself."

The build comes amid a huge surge in garden pub creations during lockdown.

Earlier this year, as reported in the Yorkshire Evening Post, fellow Leeds fan Darren Powell, 35, decided to ditch the fish pond in his garden and replace it with an LUFC themed pub in his garden - which he poignantly named 'Gary Speed Bar' in memory of the Leeds United legend.

Darren and his dad Dean sourced a range of materials from friends and family - keeping the cost for the entire bar at a shocking £100.

He posted a picture of his proud creation in a Leeds United forum and has received an amazing response, with hundreds of fellow fans praising the work.

Darren explained to the Yorkshire Evening Post how he did it.

He said: "During lockdown me and my dad Dean Powell thought it would be a great idea to get rid of the fish pond and make it into a Leeds united bar.

"We called it the Gary Speed bar.

"All the wood was free from a friend of mine so we put the frame up round the breeze blocks and painted it blue and yellow and made a frame for the television.

"We added lots of Leeds stickers and old training tops before putting in the spirit optics.

"Even the bar stools were free as I was gifted them from a friend who owns a pub."

Dean even made a 'Marching on Together' sign to put above the bar.

Altogether, Darren claimed the bar had lost less than £100 - with the main purchases being a mirror and beer mats.

He said: "It's been amazing watching the football throughout lockdown to now in our Leeds bar and we will keep on adding to it over the next few months.

"I am a member at Leeds and go home and away every season.

"I have been missing the football big time but the lads are doing us proud at minute."
