Leeds United face fresh competition for £25m-rated star, Huddersfield Town target discusses future

Leeds United endured a frustrating evening in east London last night, as a quickfire first-half brace of goals from West Ham United saw the Whites fall to a 2-0 defeat, despite dominating possession for much of the ninety minutes.

Speaking after the game, Whites boss Marcelo Bielsa admitted his frustrations with the result, and claimed: “We had the initial 15 minutes in the first half, which was the best we played in the game.

“We defended well and we attacked well. In the final 30 minutes of the first half we stopped defending well and it’s difficult to attack when you don’t defend well.

“I think in the second half we defended and attacked well the whole half. Between the first half and the second half we had 60 minutes of good football.”

Meanwhile, down in the Championship, the relegation battle looks set to involve Yorkshire sides Sheffield Wednesday, Rotherham United and Huddersfield Town. In stark contrast, Barnsley are making a stunning bid for the play-off places, and currently sit in sixth place with a game in hand over Bournemouth in seventh.

Here are today's biggest transfer stories and the latest team news involving Leeds United, Huddersfield Town and a number of other clubs from Yorkshire and beyond, as the fall-out and reaction from the weekend's action continues:
