47 brilliant photos of Leeds United fans v Tottenham at Elland Road and tribute to loyal supporter after death

It’s been a while - so Leeds United’s supporters made sure they celebrated a long overdue victory in a Premier League lunchtime kick-off in style.

Leeds went into Saturday’s Premier League clash at home to Tottenham Hotspur having not won an early kick-off in the Premier League for more than four years, not since the the 3-0 victory against Chelsea of August 2022.

Even allowing for two seasons in the Championship since, the unwanted stat was a Premier League record of 21 consecutive games kicking off before 3pm without a win.

Saturday’s 12.30pm kick-off at Elland Road looked set to end in a goalless draw but two substitutes combined as Leeds scored the only goal of the game in the 79th minute, Harry Wilson playing in Noah Okafor to blast home a clinical finish in front of an ecstatic Kop.

Here, from YEP photographer Steve Riding, Getty Images and PA, are 47 brilliant photos of United’s supporters vs Spurs including a tribute to Leeds fan Colin Westby who tragically passed away after suffering a medical emergency before last month’s Manchester United game.

Mr Westby, who was 68, was a long-standing season ticket holder who had been attending matches at Elland Road for more than 50 years and United’s fans came together for a rousing minute’s applause in his memory in the 68th minute.
