Aaronson and Adams have both been included in boss Gregg Berhalter’s US squad for the World Cup and Aaronson says a bus is coming to collect himself and Adams at 3.30am tomorrow morning. First, though, Leeds take on Tottenham in this afternoon’s 3pm kick-off in north London and the duo say there will be absolutely no holding back despite the thought of the World Cup beginning in just over one week’s time.

"100 miles an hour,” said Adams, asked about the gear the duo would be in by BBC Radio Leeds. "We don't have another gear. We're trying to win."

Aaronson added: “As a team, I think right now what you can do the most is focus on the moment and the moment is Leeds. You are hearing this news but in my mind the weekend is coming up against Tottenham and we have to focus on this because this is a chance for us to get three points. We have been playing good so let's keep it going and I think that's what I am really focused on right now. There is no other gear. If it's a game it's a game."

Asked when exactly the duo would then depart for World Cup duty, Adams said 7am but Aaronson went a little deeper into the exact nature of the early morning departure. He revealed “3.30am the next morning the bus is coming to get us!”
