Salernitana sealed promotion to Italy's top flight last season but the club is owned by Claudio Lotito who also runs Lazio.

Lotito is not allowed to run two clubs in Italian football's top tier and must either sell the club or put Lazio into a trust to enable more time to sell.

Radrizzani has been linked with a move for Salernitana over the last few weeks and Mencucci has told Italian media that an offer was put in on Wednesday. June 23 and will expire on Saturday, July 3.

UPDATE: From Leeds United director Sandro Mencucci as to Whites chairman Andrea Radrizzani's plans to buy newly-promoted Serie A side Salernitana. Sandro Mencucci.

Former Fiorentina CEO Mencucci is a close associate of Radrizzani and was appointed to the Whites board of directors earlier this summer.

"We made our offer, defined in every detail, on Wednesday. Emphasizing that it is valid for ten days," said Mencucci, as quoted by La Citta Di Salerno.

"There were meetings on Thursday morning and subsequently between the consultants representing Salernitana and those of Radrizzani. But no answer has come.

"Lotito, whom I personally know and respect, will surely be taken in these hours by the need to decide and we understand that it is not easy.

"But it is right that Salerno and the Salernitana fans know that we have formulated an offer that we consider appropriate."
