Leeds United are in advanced talks to sign Bayern Munich's French midfield talent Michael Cuisance.

Sources in France say negotiations for the 21-year-old are ongoing as the Whites attempt to fill two of the remaining slots in Marcelo Bielsa's first team squad.

German outlet Bild report that Bayern have given Cuisance their permission to leave but the YEP understands a deal is not yet finalised.

The left footed player moved to Germany at 17, joining Borussia Monchengladbach from Nancy's Under 19s.

In 2017/18 he made 24 Bundesliga appearances and became the club's youngest ever player to start a top flight league game, aged 18 years and 45 days.

Bayern Munich signed him in 2019 on a five-year contract, shelling out €12 million and a year on could stand to make around €20 million by selling him to Premier League new boys Leeds.

Last season he started three Bundesliga games for the German giants and claimed a goal and an assist in the final league outing of the season against Vfl Wolfsburg.

Described as an 'exceptional player' for his age and a 'game-changer' by former Gladbach coach Dieter Hecking, Cuisance was left out of Bayern Munich's game against TSG Hoffenheim at the weekend.

At international level he has represented the French youth teams more than 50 times and has linked up with Leeds' goalkeeper Illan Meslier.

His performances in the 2018 European Championships and the Under 20 World Cup in Poland in 2019 helped put him on the map as one of France's most promising talents.

Bayern sporting director Hasan Salihamidžić has described Cuisance' left foot as having 'music in it' and he has operated in a deep-lying role from where he can dictate the passing game.

The Whites also want to add a winger before the transfer deadline on Monday.
