Former Leeds United favourite among frontrunners for newly-vacant big Championship job
A former Leeds United favourite among the front-runners for a newly vacant Championship job.
Former Leeds United coach Carlos Corberan is among the frontrunners for a newly-vacant big Championship job.
Corberan joined Leeds as the club’s under-23s manager back in June 2017 and the Spaniard later became first team coach under Marcelo Bielsa whilst still continuing his Academy role.
Bielsa regularly served up huge praise for Corberan who eventually left the club in July 2020 to become the new head coach of Huddersfield Town.
Corberan spent two years in charge of the Terriers and the ex-Leeds coach has since had spells in charge of Olympiacos, West Brom and most recently Valencia.
After nearly two years in charge of Valencia, Corberan was axed by the La Liga club in September but the ex-Leeds favourite has now been named as second favourite to be the new manager of Burnley following the sacking of Nicky Hayen.
Belgian manager Hayen took over at relegated Burnley in the summer but the 46-year-old was sacked at the weekend following Saturday’s 4-1 hammering at Lincoln City which left the Clarets third bottom on just eight points after 12 games played.
Former Wolves, Middlesbrough and Luton Town boss Rob Edwards has been priced up as favourite for the position. Steven Gerrard is also among the frontrunners.
