The Scots will face Serbia in a European Championship play-off next Thursday [12th] before a pair of Nations League fixtures on 15th and 18th against Slovakia and Israel respectively. All three games are away from home.

Cooper missed Leeds' games against Wolves and Aston Villa last month with a groin problem first picked up on international duty with Scotland in the last international break. He was close to a comeback for the Elland Road clash with Wolves but struggled to complete the warm up and was withdrawn at the last minute.

He returned to action in Leeds' 4-1 defeat by Leicester City on Monday and is expected to add to his four Scotland caps when he joins up with Steve Clarke's side following Leeds' Premier League trip to Crystal Palace at the weekend.

Last season brought Cooper's senior international debut and he played every minute of their September Nations League win over Czech Republic and the Euro2021 play-off semi-final win over Israel, which went to extra-time and penalties.

His fellow centre-half Diego Llorente also returned to Leeds with a groin injury following the last round of international games and the Spanish international is yet to recover.

Leeds are likely to have players involved in two of the other three Euro2021 play-off finals next Thursday. Stuart Dallas and Northern Ireland face Slovakia, while Gjanni Alioski and North Macedonia will take on Georgia.
