The Leeds film studio behind the acclaimed Amazon Prime documentary Take Us Home has released limited edition vinyls of the series' title track.

Thursday, 27th May 2021, 2:02 pm

Recorded by singer-songwriter and avid Leeds United fan Ellen Smith the moving single accompanied the second series of The City Talking's documentary which tracked the club's promotion to the Premier League.

The acoustic ballad captures the highs and lows of supporting Leeds over the decade and a half since their relegation from the top flight.

It has been pressed onto just 1,000 7" white vinyl records for a limited run to celebrate the club's success in the 2020/21 season.

Singer-songwriter Ellen Smith has released her track Take Us Home as limited edition vinyls

Leeds finished in a respectable 9th place and some fans were able to attend the last game of the season last Sunday, but Ellen wanted to extend the celebration.

She said: "I wanted to write something that felt reflective of the journey I think we've all been on over the last 16 years.

"Never did I imagine I’d be soundtracking this moment and seeing as though we haven’t all been able to celebrate it properly together, we thought it’d be nice to do something special.

"Pressing a limited edition white vinyl seemed like the perfect thing to do."

The limited-edition release marks the launch of The City Talking (TCT) Sounds, the new record label from the film studio.

TCT Sounds will also produce podcasts, music for film and represent artists from across the world

You can purchase the 7" vinyl editions of Take Us Home from the Leeds United Store and The City Talking.
