Leeds United's odds of signing Rangers attacker Ryan Kent have shifted significantly overnight – with Premier League rivals Aston Villa and West Brom still in the betting.

Kent moved to Rangers from Liverpool for £7.5m last year following a successful loan stint, in which he scored six goals in all competitions.

And Marcelo Bielsa is said to be a keen admirer of the 23-year-old, having attempted to sign him a year ago.

The Whites have already had a bid of around £10m knocked back for the tricky attacker this summer, with Gers manager Steven Gerrard claiming the offer was ‘nowhere near’ the Scottish club’s valuation.

Kent was voted the best young player in Scotland in his first season in Glasgow and stayed on despite interest from overseas and netted eight goals in 33 league appearances last campaign.

But SkyBet’s odds on Ryan Kent sealing an Ibrox Stadium exit this summer changed overnight.

Yesterday, Leeds United were priced at 15/8 to bring the winger to Elland Road, that price has now shifted to 5/2.

West Brom have moved from 16/1 to 25/1 overnight, whilst Aston Villa’s price has remained the same.

Speaking three weeks ago, Gerrard issued a ‘hands-off’ warning to Bielsa, but conceded that Premier League clubs hold significant power in transfer dealings.

He said: "The message for sure is 'hands-off'.

"Ryan is a player we admire very much here. He's a player we've seen develop at Liverpool for a long time then brought him here and he did ever so well on loan.

"We went and bought Ryan and showed a lot of faith in him and he's progressing very, very quickly here.

"He's in a good place and a player we want to keep hold of.

"But yes we have had contact from Leeds and an opening bid has been really strongly rejected.

"They are way, way off with that opening bid. That's the truth and the reality. He's a player who is not for sale.

"But you know that Premier League teams hold a lot of power and that's the reality. We have to accept that."
