The EFL today confirmed that 2,213 players and club staff from the 24 clubs were tested over the course of the past week and eight positive tests had been returned.

Players and staff who test positive must stay clear of training grounds until they have self isolated and tested negative under EFL guidelines.

Bristol City confirmed yesterday that one of the eight positives was from their club.

In League One, 254 players and staff were tested with four positive results but in League Two, where 174 were tested, every result was negative for the virus.

EFL guidelines ensure that every player or member of staff attending a training ground must complete a screening protocol to detect any symptoms, in a manner devised by the club Doctor, prior to entering the site.

Players and staff are also be required to complete a daily medical questionnaire, submitted before arrival at the training ground on training days. If this is not submitted before arrival, access to the training ground is denied.

Leeds resume their season on Sunday at Cardiff City at 12pm.
