Gareth Southgate will name his latest squad this afternoon, with England set to face the Republic of Ireland and Belgium in friendly and Nations League action respectively.

With in-form Southampton striker Danny Ings sidelined for up to six weeks with a knee injury, talk had turned towards possible call-ups for Newcastle United goal-getter Callum Wilson and Bamford.

But national reports suggest it will be Manchester United’s Mason Greenwood who will get the nod alongside shoe-ins Harry Kane, Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho and Raheem Sterling.

However, a spot in England’s forward line could open up if Southgate decides to drop Chelsea attacker Tammy Abraham, who has notched just one Premier League goal this season.

Both Wilson and Bamford have enjoyed a better start to the campaign, netting six times each so far.
