Leeds United's academy has been known for its high production of top class talent over the years - but a lot of those who have passed through the Elland Road doors have had to go on to fulfil their ambitions elsewhere. We take a look at some of those who have been and gone... and where they are now.
7. Jonathan Woodgate
Joined Leeds from Middlesbrough as a youth player. Sold in 2003 and was most recently manager at the Riverside before his sacking in June.
8. Alan Smith
The one that hurts most for Leeds United fans. Left for Manchester United - also played at Newcastle, MK Dons and Notts County, where he was most recently caretaker manager. Retired now.
9. Jonny Howson
Most remembered for his role in promotion from League One. Spells with Norwich and Middlesbrough - where he has remained since 2017.
10. Paul Robinson
Spent six years at Leeds before leaving following Premier League relegation. Enjoyed a top flight career with Tottenham, Blackburn and Burnley. Retired and is a pundit for Sky and others.
11. Danny Rose
Came through the Leeds ranks but never played a senior minute. Moved to Tottenham in 2007. Still employed by Spurs but has just spent time with Newcastle on loan.
12. James Milner
Sold to raise funds in 2004. Spells with Newcastle, Aston Villa, Man City and Liverpool followed. Is a Premier League and Champions League winner. Still with Jurgen Klopp's men.
