The Whites netted through five different scorers in Patrick Bamford, Rodrigo, Stuart Dallas, Gjanni Alioski and Jack Harrison to sink Steve Bruce's visitors and move on to 17 points for the Premier League campaign.
Graham Smyth, the YEP's chief football writer, hands out the scores.
7. Mateusz Klich
8 - A lovely cross for Dallas' goal, played some tidy football. Kept his head when it was frustrating. Kept running, always an option for the ball.

8. Raphinha
8 - Largely unplayable in the first half. Popped up everywhere. Quieter in the first half of the second period before becoming a threat again as Newcastle tired. Should have scored at least one. Photo by Newcastle United/Getty Images.
9. Jack Harrison
8 - A performance of grit and perseverance. Struggled with deliveries and appeared to tire, before producing a phenomenal assist and scoring a wondergoal. Found extra energy from somewhere. Photo by Tim Keeton - Pool/Getty Images.
10. Rodrigo
8 - Scored a good goal, heavily involved throughout, played some terrific passes and took some excellent touches. Wasn't perfect, gave the ball away in bad areas a few times but a good performance overall. Photo by Tim Keeton via Getty.
11. Patrick Bamford
8 - Stayed alert in the area to score his goal, showed some nice touches and bits of good hold up play amid crowds of Newcastle defenders. Photo by Newcastle United/Getty Images.
12. Pablo Hernandez
8 - What a cameo. Came off the bench to grab two assists. Showed desire and energy to get up in support or Raphinha before setting up Alioski. Showed his vision and quality to set Harrison away for his goal. Photo by Shaun Botterill/Getty Images.
