Leeds absolutely dominated the first half and went in at half-time 2-0 up thanks to a scorching volley from Brighton loanee White and beautiful finish from Stuart Dallas after an outrageous nutmeg from Pablo Hernandez.

Substitute Tyler Roberts then headed home from a Hernandez corner six minutes after the break before another substitute in Jamie Shackleton finished off a rapid counter attack to net for the second game in a row.

The victory sees Leeds heading for the Premier League having ultimately romped to the Championship title with United finishing on 93 points after a 28th victory of the season in head coach Marcelo Bielsa's 100th game in charge.

United were immediately on the front foot and Jack Harrison went mightily close to firing his side into a third-minute lead when cutting inside from the edge of the box and unleashing a fierce effort that flew narrowly over the bar.

The Whites were dominating and duly took the lead in the 13th minute but from an unlikely source when from a corner, Brighton loanee centre back beautifully controlled the ball with his chest before unleashing a rocket of a volley into the top corner from 18 yards out.

United were continued to boss matters with Mateusz Klich firing over and Gjanni Alioski should have doubled United's advantage in the 22nd minute only to lash his volley over the bar from the middle of the box.

From a rapid attack in the 26th minute, Hernandez cut inside and forced a strong save from Dillon Phillips to force a corner from which skipper Liam Cooper headed wide.

But a second United looked imminent and it duly arrived in the 28th minute when Dallas produced a sublime deft finish after a one-two with Hernandez who nutmegged his man to set up his team-mate.

Only a fantastic finger-tip save then prevented Luke Ayling's drive from flying into the corner and Charlton then had another near miss as a powerful volley from Dallas was deflected just wide.

Leeds were rampant and Klich forced over before only another fine save from Phillips denied Dallas a second.

But Charlton then had a golden opportunity to pull a goal back when Leeds were caught on the counter by Alfie Doughty who raced away clean through only to fire wide.

United were then immediately back on the front foot with a fine effort from Alioski flying just wide.

The second half began to the sound of fireworks all around Elland Road but Charlton should have pulled a goal back in the 48th minute when substitute Chuks Aneke found space in the area bur failed to beat 'keeper Illan Meslier who saved with his legs.

Meslier then produced another save to deny Josh Cullen immediately afterwards and two minutes later United bagged their third when Roberts, on for Patrick Bamford at the break, produced a clinical headed finish to a Hernandez corner.

Charlton then squandered another chance as Naby Sarr headed over and Lee Bowyer's side continued to battle with a fierce shot from Macauley Bonne blocked.

The contest had long since been over but still Leeds wanted more and Shackleton then netted for the second game in a row from a lethal counter attack started by a raking pass from Pascal Struik to Ian Poveda who laid on a perfect assist.

Even then, United pushed on for a fifth with Roberts firing wide and with Ayling drive saved before Meslier produced a brilliant save to keep out Aneke from a late Charlton surge.

Poveda then fired a good chance over in added time.

Bielsa, meanwhile, was still yelling orders from the touchline and calling for maximum effort, even with United 4-0 up.

It is, though, that attitude and sheer hard graft combined with United and Bielsa's talent that will have Leeds United in the Premier League as Championship champions next term.
