What Marcelo Bielsa has said
“They are in a positive dynamic in terms of results and they have a confidence in how they manage the ball,” Bielsa told the media.
“We have to try to defend well and attack better than they do.”
What Thomas Tuchel has said
“A club with big history, strong, strong players, and a strong manager,” Tuchel said of Leeds.
“Bielsa is clearly one of the most fascinating managers out there. He has a big personality for sure.
“But like with any other game, I don’t put pressure on myself that I have to beat or out-tactic Marcelo Bielsa. This is not how we approach games.
“We will totally focus on us, what to do in attack and how to defend. They have clearly built a strong squad to get promoted and to play this season like this. It’s amazing.”
Early Chelsea team news
Chelsea boss boss Thomas Tuchel has been hit with a late injury blow ahead of this afternoon’s encounter.
Tuchel revealed in his pre-match media briefing that Brazilian international centre-back Thiago Silva had suffered a setback and will miss the trip to West Yorkshire, joining England international striker Tammy Abraham (ankle) on the sidelines.
Early Leeds United team news
The Whites have been handed a boost this week with the return of Kalvin Phillips, Rodrigo and Gaetano Berardi,
All three should feature again in today’s matchday squad but Pascal Struijk (knock) and Pablo Hernandez (muscle) have been ruled out.
Utility man Jamie Shackleton is fit once again and could feature while the game comes too soon for Robin Koch (knee), who will step up his rehab on Monday with the Whites’ Under-23s side.
Adam Forshaw (hip) remains a long-term absentee.
YEP predicted XI (4-1-4-1 or 3-3-1-3): Meslier; Ayling, Llorente, Cooper, Alioski; Phillips; Dallas, Rodrigo, Raphinha, Costa; Bamford.
