Leeds United transfer news: Marcelo Bielsa to attempt five signings, £17m Whites star eyed by Manchester United, Douglas Costa to Elland Road latest

Leeds United are set to travel to Wolves in their next Premier League fixture...

And Luke Ayling has backed his teammate Illan Meslier to brush off a disappointing showing last time out at Arsenal, where the Frenchman made a mistake in possession which led to him giving away a penalty.

"He's still a very young lad," Ayling said of Meslier's shot-stopping abilities.

"He's only 20 and he's playing Premier League football - you don't see many goalkeepers at that age playing in this division consistently.

But on-pitch matters haven’t stopped transfer talk swirling around the top-flight and beyond.

Indeed, former Leeds United goalkeeper Paul Robinson believes Leeds are in a race with Liverpool and Tottenham to sign Brighton centre-back Ben White.

White spent last season on loan at Elland Road and cemented himself as a fan favourite as the Whites were promoted to from the Championship.

“A lot of clubs will be looking to sign an elite level centre-back in the summer," Robinson said. “I expect Ben White to be in demand from Leeds, Liverpool and Tottenham at the end of the season.

“You can see how hard that market is when you look at Liverpool’s business in January. They waited until the end of the window and they got two players who they probably did not initially want to sign."
