Leeds United transfer news: Whites rival Crystal Palace for free agent deal, Marcelo Bielsa signing told to leave Elland Road

Leeds United youngster Mateusz Bogusz admitted recently he is likely to leave the club on loan again this summer.

The talented Pole is currently at Spanish club UD Logrones but will return to Elland Road at the end of the season.

Indeed, Bogusz, speaking to LUFCFANZONE earlier this month, has already outlined his expectations for the next campaign.

He admitted: “I think I will still go on loan next season because the team plays very well.

"They play in the Premier League and I think I’m not ready to play in the Premier league or to just be a sub.”

There is a lot of promise surrounding the 19-year-old as he targets breaking into the Whites first-team in the next few years.

And in order for him to challenge for a senior spot, former Leeds striker Noel Whelan has suggested he joins a Championship club in the summer.

Whelan told Football Insider: “I think a Championship loan move is the next step for him.

“You get that little bit of experience, you do well there and then you’re looking for your next challenge. Championship football would be a step up.

“It will be beneficial for him and it will be beneficial for Leeds. If he keeps showing that he can do it at different levels then he’s got the chance of proving he can do it at Premier League level.”

Meanwhile, another player being linked with a move to the second-tier is Helder Costa.

Now, his fellow countryman Alex McLeish, believes the former Wolves winger must leave West Yorkshire and get his career back on track.

“He’s not excelled the way we thought he would,” the former Scotland boss said.

“He scored a goal playing against us (Scotland) for Portugal. He snuck in behind Andy Robertson for one of the goals.

“I thought: ‘Yeah, this guy, he is one of the new Portuguese generation.’ They always produce really skilful players, technical players, but for some reason, he’s been a bit-part player at Leeds.

“We were thinking he would play every week and start every game. He’s only come on in little fragments and sometimes not done enough when he has been introduced.

“It’s almost like there’s a lack of motivation there and he needs to go and get a new club and freshen up.”

Elsewhere, Leeds are said to have shown interest in a Championship defender, who is out-of-contract this summer:
