Leeds United 3-0 Crewe Alexandra - recap: Marcelo Bielsa post-match reaction after EFL Cup victory
Marcelo Bielsa' s side face lower league opposition as they enter the EFL Cup tonight.
Bielsa has often used the domestic cup competitions to hand minutes to those in his squad who need them in previous years, whether young or old.

Leeds free-kick
3. Leeds clear the incoming corner at the second attempt as Meslier grabs it from the air. He sets Roberts free with a quick throw and the hosts look in. The Wales international, though, is taken out. Free-kick.
Jaaskelainen collects
4. Harrison swings in a ball from the left about 30-yards from goal. It’s deep and straight into the Crewe goalkeeper. A steady start.
Leeds attack
6. Some nice build up play from midfield as Leeds are patient. Firpo finds Rodrigo, who has broken out wide to the touchline. He spots the run of Harrison into the area but it’s overhit.
Crewe offside
7. Crewe - who aren’t looking to hide on the ball - are flagged offside. It’s Knight who is the guilty party. He’s looking like the one who can get on the ball for the visitors and make something happen.
Leeds pressure
8. Costa gets down the right and supporters are on their feet. A low ball in to Rodrigo is cleared before the Spaniard gives away a free-kick as Leeds come again. No real chances for either side, yet.
LEEDS CHANCE
10. Just as I write there’s been no chances... Leeds create one. The loose ball is bouncing around and Roberts decides to hit one on the volley. It smacks a defender and Elland Road cries for a handball. Forshaw, meanwhile, gathers and curls a shot at goal which draws a strong save. Cleared.
Crewe free-kick
12. Leeds need to be wary of this... and they are. A cross comes in from the deadball on the far side touchline. Roberts is the first man and he volleys the ball clear.
Leeds possession
14. A real period of domination from Bielsa’s men. They’re knocking it around really well making Crewe chase shadows all over the pitch. Nothing in the final third, as yet. But they’re looking for the gaps. Still early days.
Leeds pressure
17. More of the same in the last few minutes. Crewe have been managing to break up attacks as United knock it around the park. Haven’t found that killer pass but Leeds continue to search. Just as I say that, Shackleton overhits a pass to Costa down the flank and it’s a goal-kick.
