Raheem Sterling fired Pep Guardiola's side into a 17th-minute lead but record signing Rodrigo's first goal for the Whites drew Marcelo Bielsa's team level to secure a point.
Graham Smyth, the YEP's chief football writer, hands out the scores.
1. Illan Meslier
7 - Struggled with his distribution due to the City press at times. Made some saves, stuck at it with the ball at his feet and contributed to Leeds' improvement in possession. Photo by PAUL ELLIS/POOL/AFP via Getty Images.
2. Luke Ayling
7 - Sterling got the better of him a few times, particularly in the first half but he showed all of his experience, stuck to his man and still managed to get forward. Photo by Paul Ellis - Pool/Getty Images.
3. Liam Cooper
8 - Kept the team on task when they were being pinned, stuck to the plan, defended stoutly against a nightmare attack. Photo by JASON CAIRNDUFF/POOL/AFP via Getty Images.
4. Robin Koch
7 - Some of his decisions on the ball weren't great but stood up in defence to get a toe in time and time again. Photo by Paul Ellis - Pool/Getty Images.
5. Stuart Dallas
8 - Skinned by Mahrez early but that didn't dictate his afternoon. He battled, ran and was clever with the ball, helped Leeds break at pace. Photo by Paul Ellis - Pool/Getty Images.
6. Kalvin Phillips
8 - Grew into the game. Was brushed off by Kevin De Bruyne early but worked hard to compete and settle, then improved steadily. Tackled cleverly, passed it well. Photo by JASON CAIRNDUFF/POOL/AFP via Getty Images.
