The previous five Elland Road clashes between these two sides have seen Leeds victorious on two occasions with two draws and one Wednesday win.

Marcelo Bielsa will be hoping to get one over on Garry Monk when the teams go head to head on Saturday, so we look back on the past five matches at Elland Road between these two teams.

Leeds United 1 Sheffield Wednesday 0 (Championship) – Saturday, April 13, 2019

Jack Harrison's flick from close range mid way through the second half was enough to edge Steve Bruce's side and climb three points clear of third placed Sheffield United.

Wednesday 'keeper Kieren Westwood was in inspired form, denying Harrison and Tyler Roberts a number of times before Leeds finally found a breakthrough.

At the time, this victory seemed crucial as it meant the Whites needed a maximum of ten points from the final four games to secure promotion. But the less said about that the better.

Leeds United 1 Sheffield Wednesday 2 (Championship) – Saturday, March 17, 2018

A brace including a stoppage time winner from Atdhe Nuhiu poured even more misery on Leeds boss Paul Heckingbottom in a snowy afternoon.

Following a goalless first half, the big Kosovan swept home on 71 minutes after Adam Reach's effort came back off the post.

Jay Roy Grot equalised with his only competitive goal for United after 86 minutes, but Nuhiu brushed past Matthew Pennington to slot home in added time.

Leeds United 1 Sheffield Wednesday 0 (Championship) – Saturday, February 25, 2017

Chris Wood scored his 23rd goal of the season despite offside appeals to give Garry Monk a victory over his future employers.

Rob Green kept the slender lead intact with a terrific penalty save, pushing Jordan Rhodes' effort onto the post after Souleymane Doukara was penalised.

The win took Leeds to 4th, but poor end of season form ultimately saw them drop out of the playoff spots, finishing 7th.

Leeds United 1 Sheffield Wednesday 1 (Championship) – Saturday, August 22, 2015

Marco Matias' sensational volley was the only true piece of quality in what was a dull first half.

Another piece of brilliance, this time in the second half from Stuart Dallas, led to Leeds' equaliser.

The winger nutmegged a Wednesday defender and found Chris Wood with a perfect cross and he couldn't miss.

The result was United's fourth successive draw under Uwe Rosler from their opening four games of the season, where they went on to finish 13th managed by Steve Evans.

Leeds United 1 Sheffield Wednesday 1 (Championship) – Saturday, October 4, 2014

A composed finish ten minutes from time from Italian centre back Guiseppe Bellusci earned Leeds a deserved point.

Chris Maguire gave Stuart Gray's men the lead less than ten minutes into the second half with a fine strike.

But Bellusci's neatly placed side footed effort gave Darko Milanic his second point from three matches since taking over.

However, the Slovenian would only manage another three Whites matches before getting the sack.
