Leeds who were forced into the early defensive action
Liam Palmer then tested Kiko Casilla from distance before Luke Ayling swiped and missed from a United corner
Before the first half ended Patrick Bamford's header back across goal was tipped inches past the post by Keiran Westwood.
It was to be Bamford's last action of the afternoon as Eddie Nketiah was brought on at the interval
In the second half, Wednesday's Fletcher smashed the crossbar from inside the box before missing what appeared to be an open goal.
Bielsa made his second change of the afternoon as Liam Cooper replaced Costa.
Bielsa opted to start with the same line-up that earned a late point at Preston North End
A Jack Harrison effort was cleared off the line by Fox
Alioski saw a header crash off the inside of the post as the ball was flung back into the box.
Casilla tipped a Kadeem Harris cross wide before pushing a Nuhiu header away from the target from the resulting corner.
Neither side could break the deadlock
The game resulted in a 0-0 draw.
Graham Smyth said there was a 'lack of spark and magic' during the game.
Manager Bielsa said after the match: "In the first half we played better. But even when we controlled the match they had chances."
The attendance was 27,516.
Bielsa continued: "We missed goals, they missed goals as well."
Bielsa credited Garry Monk's Wednesday for imposing their style more successfully in the second half.
Leeds are currently 3rd in the table.
Leeds United's next match is against QPR at Elland Road on Saturday, November 2.
