Key Leeds United £20m transfer target and boss speaks out on star's future amid further speculation

The Whites have been heavily linked with Rangers' Ryan Kent for some time now, and were beaten to his signing by the Gers last September, when he moved from Liverpool to Ibrox for a fee believed to be in the region of £7m.

Last month, Leeds were understood to have made a £10m bid for the ex-England U20 international, but saw the offer rejected, with Rangers boss Steven Gerrard issuing a 'hands-off' warning to the Premier League club.

Speaking ahead of his side's Scottish Premiership clash against Dundee United tomorrow afternoon, the former Liverpool and England star was quizzed on Kent's future.

Gerrard said: "He hasn't let any interest affect him. He's used it as a compliment that people are enjoying what they're seeing in terms of his form. He's scoring goals and looking very dangerous."

The 40-year-old continued: "He is going to get more interest, and we are going to get more interest and phone calls over Ryan Kent because he's a fantastic player."

Meanwhile, the 23-year-old himself has spoken out on his future, after winning the top tier's Player of the Month award.

Kent revealed: "As long as I am playing football and enjoying it I am happy where I am. I've always wanted to finally find a club that I am settled.

"I have had some beneficial experiences throughout my career and I am now in a position that I can put it all together and enjoy my football at Rangers Football Club."
