Seagulls boss Graham Potter was already without key quartet Aaron Connolly, Adam Lallana, Tariq Lamptey and Danny Welbeck for Wednesday night's clash at Manchester City.

Yves Bissouma was also suspended and whilst the midfielder will be back to face Leeds, Alireza Jahanbakhsh and Jason Steele have now also both picked up setbacks.

Midfielder Jahanbakhsh has suffered an injury blow whilst 'keeper Steele is unwell. Steele had saved four penalties in Sunday's shoot out at Newport County in the FA Cup third round.

Speaking after Wednesday's 1-0 loss at Manchester City, Potter told Sussex Live: "(Alireza has a) bit of a feeling after the game against Newport County so we will see how he settles down over the next few days."

On Steele he added: "Illness. I think he got a bit excited with all the penalties he saved and he feels a bit ill now."

Connolly and Lamptey, meanwhile, both have hamstring injuries, Welbeck has a knee problem and Lallana is ill.

Potter said last week that Lamptey would be out for a few weeks and Connolly is expected to be missing for most of the month.

Potter has now also revealed that both Lallana and Welbeck will definitely miss the Leeds clash.

"Both will be missing for Leeds," he said.

"Danny was a little bit of swelling in his knee in the area where he's had some problems before, so we want to make sure we are careful with that.

"He's going to be a couple more weeks yet I would imagine.

"Adam's made decent progress. He's not feeling so well at the moment, so he's poorly.

"We'll see how he recovers, I'm a bit more hopeful with Adam that he'll be back sooner."
