Marcelo Bielsa's side leapfrogged Arsenal into the Premier League's top half thanks to goals from Jack Harrison and Patrick Bamford against the Eagles.

It was a landmark evening for two players of a Whites persuasion, while records were set, Marcelo Bielsa was left pleased and Joe Gelhardt made an appearance on the bench.

Here a look at some of the key talking points from a successful night in LS11 for Leeds...

Kalvin Phillips reaches milestone, Patrick Bamford bags 100th goal

"They are players who shine, who are influential and are very generous to add to the collective game," Bielsa said at full-time.

The Leeds boss was referring to influential and now England midfielder Kalvin Phillips - who was handed his 200th appearance for the club against the Eagles - and striker Patrick Bamford.

Phillips has been a crucial cog in the machine for Bielsa's side since the head coach arrived in West Yorkshire nearly three years ago.

The 25-year-old was at a crossroads in his career but has blossomed since moving into a permanent defensive midfield role under the Argentine - even earning a Three Lions call up earlier this season due to his growth.

Bamford also celebrated a landmark achievement, as he bagged in the second half to notch his 100th career goal in total.

United's number nine has been in scintillating form in the top flight this term, scoring 12 goals and supplying five assists in 22 league outings.

According to Opta Stats, Jack Harrison's opener against Crystal Palace at Elland Road (2 mins 35 secs) was Leeds' fastest Premier League goal since Steve Caldwell netted against Blackburn Rovers in April 2004.

The Whites have been absent from the top flight in the seasons between the two, but the Manchester City loanee's deflected strike was the catalyst for an impressive night for the hosts.

Raphinha sends Gary Cahill back in time

Leeds winger Raphinha continued his impressive form of late with another strong showing against Palace.

The 24-year-old made just his 17th appearance for the club since his summer move from French outfit Stade Rennes but is fast becoming a huge attacking influence under Bielsa.

The Brazilian has bagged four goals and four assists this season - and sent social media wild with some trickery which left Gary Cahill in his wake at Elland Road.

53 successful passes, one key pass, four shots and a man of the match award to go with a tireless performance was more than deserved.

Defensive solidity pleases Marcelo Bielsa

Leeds United have come under fire for their inability to keep clean sheets this season.

The Whites have found the back of the 38 times but have conceded the same amount and headed into the game against Roy Hodgson's side having failed to keep a clean sheet in their last six outings across all competitions.

At the seventh time of asking, though, Leeds held firm with Liam Cooper and Pascal Struijk putting in strong performances in central defence, something the Leeds boss says was an aim for the night.

"The performance of the team was even and constant," Bielsa said post-match.

"It was an objective for today [to keep a clean sheet]. It was very important we didn't concede a goal today."

Joffy included for the first the first time

There was a surprise inclusion in the squad on Monday evening in the form of Under-23s rising star Joe Gelhardt.

The 18-year-old - who arrived from Wigan Athletic last summer - replaced the injured Pablo Hernandez on the bench.

Joffy, as he is affectionately known, has impressed for United's development side and took his tally to seven goals for the season after a brace against Middlesbrough on Sunday afternoon.

Fans have been eager to see him more involved in and around the first team set up and finally got their wish against the Eagles.
