Jean-Kevin Augustin's fitness

January recruit Augustin is still awaiting his first Whites start as the striker builds up his fitness but the forward was ruled out of Saturday's clash at Hull City with a hamstring strain.

In his absence, Tyler Roberts was handed 23 minutes in the no 9 role on as a substitute for Patrick Bamford with Roberts excelling and netting an impressive brace.

The coming week will tell us more about Augustin's condition and whether or not the 22-year-old will be ready to feature in the match-day squad for Saturday's clash against the Terriers.

Patrick Bamford or Tyler Roberts?

Bielsa has continued to keep the faith with Bamford in the lone striker role despite the forward approaching Saturday's clash against the Tigers having netted in just one of his last 12 games.

There is much more to Bamford's game than goals but Roberts grabbed his opportunity with both hands after coming in the second half with two clinical finishes and his display surely leaves him knocking loudly on the door for selection.

Bielsa admitted in his post-match press conference that it was something he would have to consider.

Ian Poveda's progress

While one of United's January recruits in Augustin is still awaiting his first Whites start, another in Ian Poveda is still yet to be handed his Whites debut.

The winger signed from Manchester City again failed to make the bench for Saturday's clash at the KC with Jordan Stevens essentially preferred as the back-up wing option in addition to versatile pair Roberts and Gjanni Alioski.

Poveda has been a regular for United's under-23s since joining but the 23s don't play this week and the 20-year-old will be hoping to impress in training with a view to being involved against Huddersfield.

Preparing for the Terriers

It goes without saying that the fastidious Bielsa will be studying Saturday's visitors Huddersfield down to the finest detail as United look to record a fifth win in a row.

Leeds had Huddersfield's measure in December's clash at the John Smith's Stadium as United left with a 2-0 victory as Town lost for the third time in their last five games, drawing the other two.

This time, though, the Terriers will arrive at Elland Road with something of a spring in their step following back-to-back home wins against Bristol City and Charlton Athletic with the latter walloped 4-0 at the weekend.
