Phillips made his 200th appearance for the Whites in last week's 2-0 win at home to Crystal Palace in which Bamford bagged his 12th goal of the Premier League campaign and 100th career strike in total.

Harrison's second-minute goal set the wheels in motion for the victory against Palace which was then followed by Sunday's 4-2 reverse at Arsenal in which United were 4-0 down after 47 minutes.

But newly-promoted Leeds are heading for Friday night's clash at Wolves sat 14 points clear of the dropzone in 11th and Harrison says the influence of Phillips and Bamford has been key.

Phillips' rise has seen the United midfielder become an England international whilst Bamford is now continually being touted for a call up to Gareth Southgate's Three Lions squad.

"You don't need me to tell you how crucial they have been to the team's success," said Harrison, speaking to LUTV as the duo reached their milestones.

"I think Patrick has had a lot of stick from fans and I'm so happy to see him doing so well this year, especially in the Premier League.

"He's right up there with the top goalscorers.

"I'm happy for him and Kalvin is like a legend at the club already.

"To get to 200 appearances is incredible for his age and he's only going to improve and develop even more.

"I'm excited to see where these two can go in the game."

Bamford sits joint-sixth in the Premier League Golden Boot race alongside Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy.

Liverpool's Mo Salah leads the way on 17 goals, three clear of Manchester United's Bruno Fernandes.

Everton's Dominic Calvert-Lewin plus Tottenham duo Harry Kane and Son Heung-min all have 13 each.

Harrison is United's second top scorer on six and only four teams have scored more times than Leeds this season who have bagged 40 goals - the same amount as Chelsea.

Only Manchester United (50), Manchester City (46), Liverpool (45) and Leicester City (42) have netted more.

Yet United have also conceded 42 at the other end which is the joint second worst defensive record in the division alongside Crystal Palace.

Only West Brom have leaked in more having shipped in 55.

"It's the responsibility of all the team in how we attack and how we defend," said Harrison, asked about himself as a winger defending from the front.

"Even if you see how we attack - I'm sure you see Luke Ayling running around at both ends of the pitch. It all goes hand in hand.

"You don't really play here unless you do both sides of the possession. It's really important for us."
