The Whites fell to a 2-0 defeat to the Seagulls in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon at the Amex stadium in Premier League action.

United were behind after just 14 minutes as Pascal Gross converted from the penalty spot following Gjanni Alioski's tangle with Danny Welbeck inside the box.

The striker was then involved again in the second half, putting the result beyond doubt for the hosts with Welbeck producing an impressive turn and low shot into the bottom corner past Illan Meslier.

Bielsa's men mustered just two shots on goal across the 90 minutes in what was an out of character performance for the visitors.

The Argentine, though, was open and honest with his thoughts to his players in the dressing room in the aftermath of the loss.

"It's a disappointing result, we've prepared so much all week to face them and the different formations that they could play." Harrison said post-match.

"We found it difficult playing against their three centre backs and they made it difficult for us to create chances as well, which is unlike us. So yeah, it's very frustrating not to come away with the result.

"Our pressing against their three central defenders could have been better, but at the same time they made it really difficult for us to play, so you have to give credit to them and the way they played.

“The manager has just given a brief overview [in the dressing room]. He said it was a fair result and that we struggled to press their three centre backs. I know he will be looking back on that and looking at ways we can improve.

"It's just frustrating coming here after getting a good few points in the last month to not come away with more. It's something we're going to review, next week, we'll be looking to improve on all the aspects from today."
