Mason Mount has admitted he hasn't payed in a game as 'frantic' and 'high-tempo' as Chelsea's 3-1 victory over Leeds United.

Marcelo Bielsa's outfit left the capital without a point on Saturday night with Frank Lampard's men running out deserved winners at Stamford Bridge.

Leeds opened the scoring through former Chelsea front man Patrick Bamford but failed to capitalise on a strong start in London before falling to eventual defeat.

Goals from Olivier Giroud, Kurt Zouma and substitute Christian Pulisic handed the hosts the spoils in what was an end-to-end encounter.

United - despite being on the wrong end of the scoreline - earned praise for their attacking risk-taking style and commitment to the high press.

Scorer Giroud commended Bielsa's players post-match and now team-mate Mount - a man who faced Leeds four times for Derby County in the Championship two seasons ago - has added to his striker's words.

"They don’t stop the whole time with the way they run and fight but we knew that coming into the game," Mount said.

"I don’t think I’ve played in a game that frantic and that high-tempo before. I saw a stat saying we’re the first team to out-run them in a game so that was brilliant.

"We just had to weather the storm and keep going. Not many teams score three against them and only concede one – usually they have high-scoring games so we did well to keep it down to one because they create so many chances.

"We’re happy to score three and win the game so it was a special night."

Around 2,000 Chelsea fans were allowed into Stamford Bridge for the first since mid-March after restrictions were lifted last week.

Asked about having supporters back inside the ground, Mount added: "I probably noticed them more, even though there were only 2,000 fans.

"We’ve played without them for so long so it was a breath of fresh air to see them back and all the boys absolutely loved it.

"It gave us an extra buzz coming into the game and then during the match they kept us going and helped us through it."
