Twenty-year-old attacking midfielder Joe Snowdon struck twice in four minutes in Monday’s league hosting of Derby’s under-21s, his rapid double-salvo providing the platform for a 3-0 victory for Scott Gardner’s young side. Snowdon also netted in the 5-3 defeat at home to Fulham’s under-21s in the middle of last month, Monday’s double taking his recent tally to three goals in his last three games.

Speaking to LUTV, the thriving youngster gave a glowing verdict on how much he is enjoying playing at present as he saluted his team mates and declared that Monday’s win must now be used as a launchpad for his team. Victory against the Rams took United’s under-21s off the foot of the Premier League 2 table but with games in hand ahead of a quick return to action at Newcastle United’s under-21s on Friday night.

“I'm loving it at the minute,” beamed Snowdon “Just playing regular game time, taking chances when they come. Also, it's down to the boys to help me to create them chances and it's up to me to put them away and I think I am doing quite a lot of that at the minute."
