Victor Orta believes a new mural unveiled by Leeds United in partnership with Roc Nation is a 'symbol' for everyone at the football club.

The Whites unveiled the stunning artwork on Saturday afternoon as part of a celebration following a new partnership with the world-renowned entertainment agency, which is owned by New York-based musician Jay-Z.

The association will see "the world’s leading music and sports agency support the growth of the Leeds United brand in key markets".

The unique piece of art, which is situated in The Calls in Leeds city centre, has been named ‘Paving the Way’.

Street artist Akse P19 - who has produced similar murals in the past, including one of Manchester United striker Marcus Rashford - has painted the piece to mark the new collaboration.

Leeds midfielder Kalvin Phillips is at the heart of the mural along with club legends Albert Johanneson and ex-captain Lucas Radebe.

The design proudly honours the diverse heritage of the club, and the foundation of minority-owned Roc Nation, whose home is depicted in the mural via the New York City skyline.

United's sporting director Orta has spoken of his pride at the artwork upon its completion, and discussed what the new partnership signals for the Premier League club.

"It's really impressive - it's a symbol of our club in this moment with Kalvin," Victor Orta told the YEP at the official unveiling.

"It's a real pleasure for me and the club, because it is a symbol of our team in a lot of sense and now it is eternal on a wall.

"I hope for him and his family it can be really emotional - but I hope for all the [Leeds] team too. He symbolises a team behind and we all feel really proud to be represented by him."

He added over the new commercial partnership: "It's a big international brand worldwide. We want to grow in the [United] States, we want to grow in Asia.

"It's a partnership that shows where Leeds United are now. It shows the ambition of the club to continue growing.

"We have chosen to start this marriage together and to put Leeds United on its real level. I feel really proud because it shows the ambition we have to keep growing."
