Leeds United visit Portman Road this afternoon in search of their first league win of the 2023/24 campaign against unbeaten Ipswich Town.

The Whites are set to welcome Willy Gnonto and Luis Sinisterra back into the squad this weekend after the pair spent the past two weeks training individually due to off-field matters.

Manager Daniel Farke confirmed during his pre-match press conference on Thursday afternoon that he had spoken with the attacking pair and decided it was suitable for them to be reintegrated with the first-team group, despite outgoing transfer speculation and the submission of a transfer request in Gnonto’s case.

Opening day hero Crysencio Summerville also has an outside chance of being involved at Ipswich, while new signing and fellow Dutchman Joël Piroe could be named in Farke’s travelling squad, consequently bolstering Leeds’ attacking options by a marked degree.

Kick-off at Portman Road is at 3pm. Build-up, team news, live match coverage and post-match reaction here throughout the afternoon.

Ipswich Town vs Leeds United LIVE

71’ Ayling pulls down Burns in the Ipswich area as the hosts look to break from Leeds’ corner. Yellow card.

Arriving in good positions

70’ SAVE! Hladky makes an excellent reaction stop to deny Piroe a second after being laid off by Sinisterra.

69’ Sinisterra shoots from range but Hladky holds it. Good power on that. Leeds fighting back to win some more territory in the last couple of minutes.

63’ Gnonto’s low cross is parried by Hladky in the Ipswich net but this time, unlike Piroe’s goal, there’s nobody there to prod home the rebound. Ayling subsequently penalised for a dive then at the other end Rodon puts his body on the line to clear.

Curling, curling into the far corner

60’ Clarke almost, almost levels for the hosts with a curling strike at the breakdown of an Ipswich corner. Leeds letting the home side dictate and as a consequence they’re growing in confidence.

59’ Rodon makes a decisive block inside the six-yard box. Ayling sold a dummy and Ipswich almost have an equaliser. Jamie Shackleton had been playing with one boot on in the build-up after it flew off in a tackle and landed in the centre-circle.

56’ Luongo booked for a foul on Rutter, who went dribbling through the Ipswich midfield at will.

53’ Shackleton booked for kicking the ball away after he believed he’d been fouled. Decision went other way.

A less gung-ho start to the second half

51’ Sinisterra shoots at the end of a Leeds breakaway down the right. Hladky holds.

46’ Shackleton replaces Drameh at left-back. Second half underway.
