Jackson's Whites development side approached Monday's Premier League Two Division Two season finale at home to Burnley already assured of promotion as champions after a stellar campaign.

Fittingly, United's under-23s then put on a five-star showing in the final game of the season at Thorp Arch which ensured that Jackson's side finished the season unbeaten at home.

"I'm immensely proud," said Jackson.

"I'm immensely honoured and privileged to be able to lead a team of players and a team of staff as well at a football club that I grew up at myself as well.

"I'm very proud of the players, proud of the staff and everybody associated with them, not just the coaching staff and the staff who work directly with the players but all the support staff around the club and everything.

"It's a great achievement as a group and as a club so the words to describe that for me is just immensely proud."
