The left-back is out of contract in the summer and talks are ongoing over an extension.

Bielsa, who has continued to use Alioski heavily in the Premier League this season, believes it's down to the player to decide because Alioski's opinion is the most important factor.

"I am only one opinion with regards to the equation and the evolution over whether Alioski stays or not," said the Leeds boss.

"The first and foremost and most important thing is that he wants to stay. I think when it comes to a player staying at a club the first thing and most important thing is that the player wants to stay the player should choose the club and after the club will decide whether they want him. But the main condition, the most important thing is the player wanting to stay."

With that said, Bielsa is of the opinion that if Alioski does decide he wants to extend his four-year stay at Elland Road, the club will make it happen.

"I think if Alioski chooses Leeds, Leeds will choose Alioski," he said.

Alioski came to the club as a left winger but is used primarily as a left-back by Bielsa, who recently stated his belief that the North Macedonian international will, in time, become a very good option in that position.

"Ali is going through a period of development in this position that for me will end up in him becoming a very good and reliable option at left back," he said.

Alioski has made 152 appearances for the Whites since his 2017 arrival from Lugano, where he was a goalscoring success on the wing.
