The Whites recorded their eighth win of the season last night at struggling Newcastle United, taking their points total to a healthy 26 points.

Bielsa’s men hold a 14-point advantage over the relegation places, which is an impressive return for a newly-promoted side in the Premier League.

Despite this, some pundits have taken issue with Bielsa’s style of play, particularly after the 6-2 defeat to Manchester United.

However, Dawson is more than entertained by Leeds, and says their success in the top-fligh comes as no surprise having come up against them in the Championship with Hull and Nottingham Forest.

He told Sky Sports’ Football Show: “I always thought when playing against them in the Championship, when they step up to the next level, they’d win games because they get people in the box and score goals.

“The aim of this game is to score more goals than the opposition and they, throughout the season, will always score goals.

“That’s why, early on when they got off to a good start, you knew they’d concede because players will get exposed and defenders will come up against better quality than they did in the Championship.

"They have been punished at times but they are good to watch. Like you say, pundits – we get excited about teams. Next week, they might go and lose heavily but the week after they’ll win.

"That’s the way Bielsa plays but I love watching Leeds – they’re certainly entertaining.”
