Leeds United visit Huddersfield Town in their return to Championship action this weekend looking to break the club's record for consecutive league wins.

The Whites' fixture against the Terriers stands between Daniel Farke and a new club record this afternoon as Leeds go in search of a tenth straight league win to continue their excellent start to 2024. United's unbeaten run across all competitions came to an end in midweek as Chelsea knocked Farke's young side out of the FA Cup in what was characterised as an undeserving victory for the Blues.

Leeds' nine-game winning streak in the league, meanwhile, is the joint-longest run of its kind in Whites history, with their last such run occurring in 1931. Local rivals Huddersfield will be keen to spoil the party however, and have won three of their last five matches as new coach Andre Breitenreiter seeks to salvage the club's Championship status.

Team news, analysis and live match updates here throughout the day. Kick-off is at 12:30pm.

Huddersfield Town vs Leeds United LIVE

47' Georginio does all the difficult stuff really well, taking the ball under pressure, skipping past two challenges then lashes a shot out for a throw-in. Frustrating.

Second half underway

46' Off we go again. Matos on for the hosts. Ward makes way. No changes from Farke yet.

Red card aside, that's exactly the half Andre Breitenreiter and his Huddersfield players will have wanted. Scrappy, physical, stoppages every few minutes, no opportunity for Leeds to build any momentum. I'd swap Gnonto for James at HT.

HT: Huddersfield 1-0 Leeds

45+10' Inches wide by Georginio. Gets a strong left-foot behind it and that's half-time.

45+8' Gruev gives a free-kick away in the corner. Leeds need to curb this as set-pieces are where Huddersfield are going to get their joy.

Jonathan Hogg given his marching orders for a second yellow. Catches Firpo in the face with his forearm. Huddersfield down to 10.

Goal. Huddersfield. Helik.

45+1' Helik pokes in after a Huddersfield set-piece is nodded towards goal. Meslier keeps the initial effort out but centre-back is closing in.

Nine added minutes to this first half.

39' Pearson now carded for a late challenge on Summerville. Catches him on the ankle. This game has been sooooooo stop-start.

38' Kasumu into the book for a tackle on Rodon. Went to shoot but Leeds defender got there a split second before and the Huddersfield midfielder clatters into him.

He's here, he's there, he's everywhere

36' Archie Gray to the rescue. Glen Kamara with a short pass back to the 17 y/o and Sorba Thomas capitalises. Bearing down on goal, 1-v-1, Gray watches him all the way and takes it off him.

34' Pearson leaves one on Gnonto in an aerial challenge. Bit cynical.

33' Corner Leeds. Gnonto found well by Kamara, plays his way into the box. Chested away for a set-piece. Near post ball headed clear.

30' Game lacking in quality so far you'd have to say. Leeds' out-balls being shadowed by Huddersfield players and their attacking play smothered. Lots of stray passes. Kasumu down for the hosts off the ball. Had been feeling something earlier.

26' Nakayama off; Helik on.

24' Yuto Nakayama now down receiving treatment for Huddersfield.

23' Summerville carrying on. Next five minutes will tell us how bad that knock has proven.

22' Summerville to his feet rather gingerly, hobbling off now after treatment. That's a worry. Farke not pleased, having words with the fourth official.
