Huddersfield Town taking no time off before Leeds United derby, Fraizer Campbell in similar boat to Patrick Bamford

Danny Cowley says Huddersfield Town will be taking no time off this week as they prepare for an 'important' game against Leeds United.

Both Town and the Whites celebrated 4-0 wins on Saturday, Huddersfield battering Charlton Athletic at home, just after Leeds had demolished Hull City.

United are five points clear of the play-off places and Cowley's men have a five-point cushion between themselves and the relegation zone, ahead of next weekend's Elland Road clash.

It's a big game for the Terriers and their supporters, says the Huddersfield boss, and with no midweek fixture to worry about, they'll prepare accordingly.

“It is a great game," he said.

"We know how important it is for the club and our supporters.

“It is good to have a clean week. But we will certainly not be having any time off. We have to prepare and build and keep working."

Securing their most emphatic win of the season against the Addicks has only meant a tougher week for the Huddersfield players, because Cowley is intent on building momentum.

“For us, it is not about one-off success, but about having sustained success," he said.

"The better you do, the harder you work and that has always been how we have lived and the mantra we have gone by.”

Although both Huddersfield and Leeds scored four goals on Saturday, each side have a striker who is going through a drought and failed to get on the scoresheet.

For Leeds, Patrick Bamford has failed to hit the net in 12 of his last 13 games, a brace against Millwall at the end of January his only goals since 21st December.

Town forward Fraizer Campbell hasn't scored for 14 games, but in the same way that Marcelo Bielsa values Bamford's overall game, Cowley looks at more than Campbell's goalscoring record.

“He was selfless,” he said of Campbell's contribution against Charlton.

“If people cannot see what Fraizer gives to this team, then they must be blind.

“Look at how hard he works. Ask any centre-half who plays against us about his physicality and running. He was the assist for Steve Mounie’s goal, for me. I know he wasn’t on the pitch, but he did all the hard work.

“He actually needs one off his backside himself.”
