Leeds looked comfortable when they took an early first half lead through Raphinha, but allowed Newcastle back into the game and had to find a second goal in the second half to win it.
1. Illan Meslier - 8
One or two dicey moments but he made some really important saves to keep Leeds ahead in the game. The one from Shelvey was top class.
2. Gjanni Alioski - 6
Had a difficult time defensively, in the second half particularly. A loss of possession that forced him to take a yellow saw him replaced.
3. Luke Ayling - 6
A mixed performance. Some good stuff that allowed Leeds to go forward quickly, some not so good stuff, like the moment before Newcastle's goal.
4. Diego Llorente - NA
A couple of tidy moments on the ball before the sad sight of him going to ground on nine minutes. Another spell on the sidelines will be bitterly disappointing.
5. Liam Cooper - 7
Some good defensive work and nice moments on the ball but he was unable to keep the defence from rocking in the second half. Corners looked problematic too.
6. Kalvin Phillips - 7
Looked comfortable in a very good first half, not so comfortable in the second. Newcastle were able to attack through the middle and he couldn't stem the tide.
