Leeds chalked up yet another win-to-nil in 2024 with their two-goal triumph over the Owls to kick off this weekend's round of Championship fixtures. The pressure has been put firmly back on Ipswich Town and Leicester City as Leeds move onto 79 points from 37 matches, still chasing down automatic promotion and an immediate return to the top flight.
Here are the ratings from tonight's league win, making it 11 in the last 12.
7. Ilia Gruev - 7/10
Quietly busy. Scurried around to fetch the ball and pass it off. Could have played forward instead of backward a few times, but read things well and nipped in to intercept. | Getty Images
8. Willy Gnonto - 8/10
So much brighter after the break. Flashes of danger in the first half, plenty of it in the second and a really well-taken goal. Deserved an assist for ball to Summerville. | Getty Images
9. Crysencio Summerville - 7/10
Should have scored. But even after his miss he kept plugging away. Showed his strength, dribbled it well a couple of times. Looked more dangerous in the second half. | Getty Images
10. Georginio Rutter - 7/10
As the game opened up in the second half he became so much more threatening. First half was frustrating, missed a good chance. Lovely assist for Gnonto. | Getty Images
11. Patrick Bamford - 8/10
A goal, a huge amount of work and some excellent centre forward hold-up and link-up play in the second half. Had a hand in the second goal. | Mike Egerton/PA Wire
