Three days after captain Ethan Ampadu suffered lateral ligament damage in victory against Coventry City, Leeds lost the services of another centre midfielder at Carrow Road as Ilia Gruev was forced off with a knee injury. Gruev, who was replaced by Joe Rothwell, was forced off just five minutes after Norwich had taken the lead through a Josh Sargent penalty awarded for Joe Rodon's foul on the Canaries attacker.
But Willy Gnonto had been a threat for Leeds from the outset and the Italian winger set up Largie Ramazani to draw Leeds level on the hour mark with a neat through ball from which Ramazani fired home a clinical finish.
Graham Smyth, the YEP’s chief football writer, hands out the scores from a hard evening against the Canaries.

6 - Distribution was a problem, some poor kicks. Made a couple of important stops. Photo: Nigel French
2. Jayden Bogle
7 - Stood up well to the test of Sainz. Only looked troubled when Leeds were stretched and out of shape defensively. Photo: Nigel French
3. Pascal Struijk
6 - A couple of shaky moments in possession. Played a nice pass into Gnonto in the build-up to the goal. Photo: Nigel French
4. Joe Rodon
6 - Passed it nicely at times, some big headers. The decision to go to ground was costly when he conceded the spot-kick. Photo: Nigel French
5. Junior Firpo
6 - Beaten too easily which allowed the pass to Sargent for the penalty award. Steady after that. Some good bits going forward. Photo: Nigel French
